Precisely cut rectangular strips of stainless steel are twisted into spirals to serve as book pedestals. Without sckechets, without plans, “Contínuo” was born out of intuitive, three-dimensionally oriented experiments. A pure study of shapes on shapes.

Contínuo 1 (polished steel. 2mm)

As an ongoing project, my next step is to rationalize the design process, which so far has been purely intuitive. I don't think I've reached the ideal shape yet, but I consider the project promising. I would like to carry out more experiments like this, in a purer form of what I imagine design to be. Besides, my skill with metal is still weak and so far I haven't managed to achieve a neat final product.
