Reconnectedchair
2024
A collaboration with Emmaus (Eindhoven, NL), Reconnected is a chair made entirely from broken-second-hand furniture. With a focus on preserving the fundamental characteristics of each piece, sheets of recycled white plywood connect the furniture in a tight embrace.

Giving light to objects that are considered garbage and putting aside my individual convictions as a designer, Reconnected seeks to give new life to pieces that once made up beautiful furniture.

For easy storage, “junk furniture” is disassembled,
resulting in huge piles of waste (a great treasure for any designer)
detail - merging wood

This was certainly one of the most technically complex projects I've ever done. In the quest to repair rather than create, I learned to appreciate every little detail. Everything is very precious, even a toothpick, if you handle it wisely. Moreover, the final product, as a piece of furniture, is stable and comfortable.
